Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. Her work has been recognized for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes, including The Oscar for her movie Piano. The actress began her career by acting on Broadway and Off Broadway. The art of acting has been a constant love of life. In fifth grade, she played Helen Keller. After suffering from the Mumps, she went deaf on one side of her ear. The deafness didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to work as an actress. While in college, she took classes in theatre before moving from the Midwest to New York City in pursuit of her dream. In a chance encounter she was stuck in an elevator along with writer Beth Henley and the two worked together on the Broadway Crimes of the Heart that became Hunter's debut. Hunter was then moved from New York to Los Angeles and tried to get the roles in films. In Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. She has since appeared in a variety of TV movies and series over an extensive career that spans more than a quarter century. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and has won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
